I designed the digital object Ton extinction to make tangible a crisis that has remained too abstract. It sits at the interface between my research and my art studio.
On parle de biodiversité tantôt en termes économiques, tantôt écologiques, tantôt moraux, mais jamais les trois ensemble : il en résulte un dialogue de sourds, pendant que la crise s'aggrave. Ton extinction relie une espèce disparue à ton année de naissance, pour faire de cette crise abstraite quelque chose de personnel. On ne protège que ce qu'on comprend, et la biodiversité ne sera bien comprise qu'en croisant les regards de l'économie, de l'écologie et de la philosophie.
